The support team consists of Rachel Whittington, Director of Extramural Veterinary Education, and our online coordinator, Sharon Boyd, who will create innovative interactive and supported online programmes to bring our expertise closer to vets in practice.
Rachel joined the R(D)SVS in March 2007. Through her role, she aims to forge closer links between veterinary practice and the Vet School and places particular emphasis on ensuring that the School’s CPD provision is high quality, relevant, accessible and enjoyable. A graduate from the University of Bristol, Rachel has gained significant experience in the practising arm of the profession from both running her own practice and working as a veterinary business developer. As a result, she has a strong understanding of the pressures faced by vets working in, or running, a vet practice.
Sharon joined the R(D)SVS in November 2007. Working as the e-moderator of the online CPD courses, Sharon will provide guidance, support and a cheerful online presence to help make your eCPD a satisfying and fun experience. Sharon is a zoology graduate of Trinity College Dublin, and has a Masters in Applied Environmental Science from University College Dublin. She gained experience developing online content as a scientific editor and working as an e-learning developer in further education. She is currently studying for her PgCert in University Teaching and MSc in eLearning with the University of Edinburgh. She is also a qualified stress management consultant and online tutor, and will use these skills to support you both in your online CPD course and through the CPD Community.
