The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine is located at two sites, Summerhall in central Edinburgh and Easter Bush near Roslin in Midlothian to the south of Edinburgh. Both locations are well served by local bus services.

Travelling by car to Easter Bush

From Penicuik

  1. From Penicuik take A701 to Edinburgh.
  2. Go through Milton Bridge. Road A701 (A703).
  3. Travel 1.3 miles to Gowkley Moss roundabout.
  4. Take the second exit off the roundabout
  5. Go straight ahead to mini roundabout, take the first exit, Seafield Moore Road A703
  6. Take the first left, signposted Dick Vet Animal Hospitals
  7. Proceed down narrow winding road for 0.4 miles to Easter Bush Veterinary Centre
  8. The Hospital for Small Animals is situated on the right hand side of the road.

From Biggar Road (A702)

  1. From Silverburn, A702 for 3.5 miles (going through Easter Howgate).
  2. At 3.5 miles from Silverburn, take road on right signposted Pentland Science Park and Roslin, Bush.
  3. Travel 0.4 miles and turn left signposted Dick Vet Animal Hospitals.
  4. Travel 0.2 miles the Hospital for Small Animals is situated on the left hand side of the road. All other departments are situated on the right hand side of the road.

From Edinburgh By Pass (Straiton Junction)

  1. Depart Edinburgh By Pass at the Straiton Junction./li>
  2. Follow signs to Peebles, Penicuik, Bilston, Road A701 (A703) passing Sainsburys and Ikea on left.
  3. Travel 0.1 mile to mini roundabout, travel straight over, passing Pentland Plants on right.
  4. Travel through Bilston Village 0.7 miles to mini roundabout - go straight ahead.
  5. Travel 0.4 miles to next mini roundabout, turn right at mini roundabout to Edinburgh A703 (A702)
  6. Travel 0.5 miles, turn left, signposted Dick Vet Animal Hospitals
  7. Proceed down narrow winding road for 0.4 miles to Easter Bush Veterinary Centre
  8. The Hospital for Small Animals is situated on the right hand side of the road.

From Edinburgh By Pass (Lothianburn Junction)

  1. Depart Edinburgh By Pass at the Lothianburn Junction.
  2. Turn right at mini roundabout, following signs for All Other Routes, Midlothian Ski Centre and Country Park.
  3. Travel straight ahead at the next mini roundabout.
  4. Follow signs for Road A702, (passing ski slope on right).
  5. Travel through Damhead which is 0.5 miles from the last mini roundabout
  6. Take A703 Peebles Road, Bush is signposted 2 miles
  7. Continue on A703 Peebles / A701 Penicuik Road for 1.4 miles
  8. Take turning on right signposted Bush 3/4 of a mile and Dick Vet Animal Hospitals
  9. Proceed down narrow winding road for 0.4 miles to Easter Bush Veterinary Centre
  10. The Hospital for Small Animals is situated on the right hand side of the road.
